That's an eye bubble and yes it's covered exactly the same as silver eye.
You have your choice of the eyes only being replaced or the head (and probably limbs).
She arrived today!! She is absolutely beautiful EXCEPT for her right eye!!! I was a bit bummed to open her up and see her like that...I have NO idea what silver eye is but hear about it a lot on here. Her eye doesn't look silver, it just looks like the pupil is shrinking or something like that...will AG fix her for free???
ANYWAY--pls look at my album and tell me what you think...is she Pre-Mattel? Her torso is darker than her vinyl and she has no body tag, which I thought was odd...but all of her clothes are tagged Made in China for Pleasant Company...

PS--Her scenes and settings were shipped separate and will arrive Monday!

The picture is a bit blurry, but it does look to me like it might be the begining of silver eye. My Kirsten doll has a serious case of it. I know AG will fix it, but I don't think they do it for free. Other people will tell you more info. The only thing is, if it is PM, they will replace it with a new head, or if they just fix the eye, it will have the Mattel lashes. Of course, that is up to you. I don't mind the silver eye on my dolls. I have 2 with silver eye, and I love them jst as they are!
Your doll is adorable! I love the winter dress on her!
OK--my question is, is she PM? I have noooo idea, I guessing yes, though. They would replace her limbs and her head...for free?? WOW..correct me if I am wrong, though. Would I need to call the doll hospital about this before I send her?

PS--If she IS PM, then will getting a new head take away her value?????
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Yes they will do it it for free. Addy had a bubble JUST like that. I had to pay to send her in, and the $5.95 for return shipping but they took care of everything else.Originally posted by Momento_Mori:

Technically bubbles are just silver eye in the pupil. There's no metal, so it can't go silver though. So it just looks like a bubble or makes it look like the pupil is smaller.
She does look to be PM and in great shape to me, so yeah you probably want to send a note telling them ONLY to replace the eyes. It will hurt her value a little if you let them replace everything because she will be repaired with Mattel parts.
If she has soft eyelashes now, yes they will replace them with the hard ones.(if you opt for eyes only) If they are already the hard kind you have nothing to lose
They replace the limbs too when you opt for head replacement (the default) because they don't have heads that match the older limbs, so they replace everything to match. I let them do this to my Kirsten, but she had HORRIBLE hair. I only paid to ship her there, and they put on a new head, arms, and legs for free.

The earlier Kirsten's had no body tags. She looks like a 1994 one (mine is from that year). To know for sure if she is PM try to squeeze the vinyl. It is also much smoother than a matel doll.
She looks really pretty though. The doll hospital will fix her eyes - send a note saying that you just want the eyes fixed and to LEAVE THE STRINGS (or you will get plastic ties). I don't think they are changing heads on silver eye dolls anymore. They seem to be just changing the eyes now.
